Learners will understand the purpose and different types of formal letters, the correct English and French layouts, and the differences between handwritten and typed letters. The course also explains how to write appropriate addresses, dates, salutations, subject headings, opening paragraphs, main content, closing expressions, signatures, references, attachments and copies.

Through practical examples, learners will be able to prepare application letters, request letters, complaint letters, invitation letters, apology letters, administrative correspondence and other commonly used formal letters. By the end of the course, they will be able to write, format, review and submit professional formal letters in English and French while respecting the administrative and professional practices commonly used in Cameroon.
